About the Montana Senior Olympics

Mission: Promote healthy lifestyles through the spirited competition of sports and education, while inspiring everyone to embrace health and enjoy the value of sports related exercise.

The Montana Senior Olympics is an Olympic-style sports festival for people who are 50+ years of age, or will be at the time of the events. Beginning in the 1980s, the Montana Senior Olympics has changed locations several times, most recently in 2019 moving to Missoula. The games are expected to stay in Missoula permanently.

MSO offers 15 summer sports to compete in, with National Games qualifying events during select years. There are no residency or prior experience requirements. Athletes are able to compete in 10 age categories to win gold, silver, and bronze medals. The Montana Senior Olympics is a member of the National Senior Games Association (www.NSGA.com).

MSO is financially supported by local sponsorships, participant fees, and donations. If you’d like to sponsor or donate to the Montana Senior Olympics, please contact the Games Director, Anna Bruning, at bruninga@ci.missoula.mt.us for more information.
